Director's Message

 



Greetings from DDU KAUSHAL Kendra, Loyola College, Chennai.

Deen Dayal Upadhyay KAUSHAL Kendra, a remarkable scheme initiated and funded by the Government of India and the University Grants Commission aims at transforming India into the skill capital of the world. This programme is intended to provide Skill development training that focuses on quality, sustainability and skill proficiency in connection with Industry Partners in the relevant skill. As part of the plan, it envisions to produce state of the art Training Centers all over India.

Loyola College (Autonomous), Chennai is one among the first few institutions in the country to be awarded with this scheme and takes great pride in being the pioneers in the skill development initiative. The College with the history of 91 years of contribution in the Educational arena, with the status of “College of Excellence” stands as the right choice to offer this skill oriented training to the student community.

We are honored to be part of the Loyola KAUSHAL Kendra team that has taken shape in an exemplary manner with the support and cooperation of everyone. We work hard to support the higher education aspirations of vibrant young people from underprivileged sections of society. We focus on courses that assure mastery of hands-on skills that guarantee remunerative entrepreneurship. We are proud to be guided by the officials of Loyola College with the operational support of the Central government.

We have an amazing team in place. Our faculty members are experts in respective fields well qualified with the necessary experience. We have evolved the syllabus complying with the standards and procedures of the University of Madras and the University Grants Commission. Our syllabus is rightly aligned to the National Occupational Standards as set by the MESC and NSDC. Not only are our courses in Digital Journalism and 3D animation, path-breaking but both the content and format of our syllabus have received widespread appreciation as well.

The courses offered are B.Voc. 3D Animation, B.Voc. Digital Journalism, M.Voc. 3D Animation and M.Voc. Digital Journalism, all of which are designed to offer Job oriented training. We have admitted a total of 130 students at both UG and PG programmes in the very onset of our department. The successful candidates will be provided placement assistance with the support of the wide range of industry partners and associates. The students are mandated to take the national assessment test and on successful completion of the test, they are awarded certification aligned to the National Occupational Standards of NSDC. This certification is valid both at National and International levels. Our best wishes to all our students to make the best use of this opportunity and to pursue their career in the respective fields of their passion and study.

We thank each and every one of you for enabling every objective of this program. We seek the continuous cooperation and support from everyone. Above all we thank the Almighty for the bountiful blessings and for giving us this wonderful opportunity to grow together.
