GUIDELINES FOR LIBRARY USAGE


 

•  Before entering the Library, register your visit, by tapping your Identity Card, in the Card Reader which is placed near the entrance.

•  Please wear your Identity Card till you leave the Library

•  While leaving the Library, tap your Identity Card, in the Card Reader which is placed near the exit point.


Book Self Service Terminal

•  Issue, Return & Renewal of books can be done by the users

•  In the terminal first select the Option

•  for ISSUE - first place your Identity Card in the space provided – then place the book in the space provided (spine of the book should touch the machine) … once you see the success message (with the due date) in the screen, you can take the book. For more than one book, place the other book in the space provided … (repeat the above mentioned process). While leaving take your Identity Card and press the Exit menu. If you try to take more number of books (beyond your eligibility) terminal will show error message.

•  for RETURN - place the book in the space provided (spine of the book should touch the machine) … once you see the success message in the screen you can take the book and place it in the book trolley kept near the Terminal. For more than one book, place the other book in the space provided … (repeat the above mentioned process). While leaving press the Exit menu. (you can return upto five books one by one, of any Identity Number without pressing the exit menu)

•  for RENEWAL first place your Identity Card in the space provided, the screen will display the number of books in your name, from the list press the renewal menu for the book which you need, then press the confirm menu, Once you see the success message (with the due date), take your Identity Card and press the Exit menu before leaving. If you try to renew a overdue book, terminal will show error message.

•  For knowing your STATUS place your Identity Card in the space provided, the screen will display the number of books in your name, while leaving take your Identity Card and press the Exit menu.

•  One Rupee per day (including holidays-after the due date) will be collected as overdue charges for the books returned after the due date. With effect from 15-09-2016 Library Overdue and Staff Caution Deposit should be paid in the CMS counter only.   You can clear the dues once in a semester before getting your hall ticket. Challan for paying Library dues can be generated separately or along with other dues.

•  All your transactions will be immediately updated in your portal.

•  Kindly stand in line and maintain silence while doing any transaction through Bok Self Service Terminal.

•  Before leaving please check the condition of the book, if any damage is found while returning you will be held responsible for it.

 

  Photocopier

•  Only library documents will be allowed, no outside materials will be entertained.

•  Library documents will not be allowed outside for Photocopying.

•  Regarding photocopy charges refer the notice board.

•  Avoid using cell phones.

•  Kindly maintain silence while standing in the queue.

 

  Reference Section

•  Newspapers, Magazines, Journals and Reference Books are meant only for reference inside the Library.

•  Students and Staff are requested not to pressurise the library staff to issue reference books. Let us not deny the opportunity of others in utilising those books.

•  Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Multiple Volume Books, Year Books, Entrance Exam Books, Government Publications, Maps, Foreign Publications, General Knowledge Books, Objective type Question Books, one copy of text books, Popular Books and some other titles as decided by Librarian will be in the Reference Section.

•  Kindly maintain silence in the reference section.

•  Outside books and materials are not allowed in the reading area.

•  Avoid using cell phones.

  Lending Section

•  Books which are kept in these sections are meant for lending.

•  When you are searching the books please maintain silence.

•  Kindly avoid misplacing or tampering books.

•  Avoid entering into the sections beyond the stipulated time.

Digital Library

•  Wear your Identity Card

•  Avoid using cell phones.

•  Kindly maintain silence while browsing.

•  Don't stand behind the chairs, please wait for your turn.

•  Pen Drive not allowed

•  Browsing Non Academic Sites or Social Networking Sites not allowed. Please use it for academic purpose only.

Printing Centre

•  Printing charge Rs.1 per page for Printing and Photocopy

•  Kindly maintain silence while standing in the queue

Reading Room

•  Avoid using cell phones

•  Kindly maintain silence

•  Don't leave your belonging here

  General Rules

•  When you are inside the Library keep yourself engaged with it, not with others.

•  Kindly remember that others also have come for reading.

•  When you are entering the Library please wear your Identity card. Do not lend your Identity card to others, do not use others Identity card.

•  When you are entering the library please leave your bags or books in the bag counter.

•  Avoid bringing any printed material inside the Library, even if it is a Library Book taken in your account.

•  If you are not able to replace the books in proper place, just leave it on the table, do not insert in wrong place. Please avoid hiding books in different places.

•  Library is a service organization, not only for today but, for generations. So kindly avoid tampering with books or any other document.

•  Rules are meant for implementation (not for arguments or violation) which is finalised by higher authorities, please co-operate.
